Discrimination and Harassment on the Basis of Race, Color, and National Origin Prohibited
School Board Policy 2:270 - Student-Friendly Summary (Grades K–4)
Our school wants everyone to feel safe, respected, and welcome.
🤝 Treat Everyone Fairly
At school, no one is allowed to be treated badly because of:
- Their race
- Their skin color
- Where they or their family come from
- The language they speak
Everyone deserves the same chances to learn, play, and be part of school activities.
🚫 What Is NOT Okay
These things are not allowed at school:
- Mean words, teasing, or name-calling about someone’s race or background
- Making fun of how someone looks, speaks, or where they’re from
- Using hurtful symbols, jokes, or gestures
- Threatening or hurting someone because of who they are
- Leaving someone out of classes, clubs, or activities for these reasons
🗣️ If Something Happens, Tell an Adult
If you see or experience something unfair:
- Tell a teacher, principal, counselor, or any adult you trust
- You can bring a support person with you if that helps
- You can even report it without using your name
🛡️ The School Will Help
When someone reports a problem:
- The school will listen carefully
- The school will look into what happened
- The goal is to fix the problem and keep everyone safe
No one is allowed to get in trouble for telling the truth or asking for help.
🚨 No Getting Back at Others
It is not allowed to get someone in trouble, tease them, or treat them badly because they reported a problem or helped during an investigation.
⭐ Our Goal
School should be a place where:
- Everyone feels safe
- Everyone is treated with respect
- Everyone can learn and do their best
